[identity profile] lugiadepression.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] ci5hq_dnoticed
Fans shared-around content: please let me know if it was already posted! Details are unknown.

Special Thanks: to the original poster. Without peoples contribution, so much would be lost for fans, future or present, so it's nice when people share what they have.

*mod hat on again*

*vbg*

It doesn't matter if articles have been posted elsewhere on Lj, this is an archive with the goal of saving as many articles as possible in one place, in a way that they can be searched as far as possible and within the limitation of the way people saved them! The only time not to post is if the article has already been posted to this comm in a way that is readable, and ideally sourced for everyone to see.

You can check whether something has already been posted here via the source dates (if you have the date), or else it will hopefully have been tagged "date unknown".

It's possible they might be up there under "date unknown", so you could click on that tag to check.

To be honest though, the comm hasn't been going for long enough to have accrued huge numbers of articles anyway, so you're unlikely to be repeating! *g*

Not quite sure what you mean in the first sentence - no, lj doesn't automatically create lists of things that have been added, but does any platform?! You can just scroll through the posts to see their titles, especially if you're set to eternal scrolling, but of course it depends whether people have given their posts a title and what that title is based on. As ever, garbage in = garbage out! You can also go to the archive/calendar page and see a list of posts by month, although that's more helpful when you're looking for something rather than trying to create a summary.

Lj's main means of organisation is by tag, and that's set up by the mod. In other comms I've set up tags to be something like "title - et in italia ego", "author - sebastian", but in this comm I set them up by year-month and then the focus of the article.

Hee — it was the other bit of the sentence I wasn't sure about! You seemed to say that lj was lame because it didn't create lists of articles/posts when you post them? But I don't know any platform that does that automatically, so I wasn't sure why that made lj lame!!

And yeah, I didn't add titles as tags at this comm — you'd end up with a huuuuuge list of tags! But that means you can't search by them, sorry!

Mods can make sticky posts for comms now, I think, which would be good for indexes etc. (I did that over at [livejournal.com profile] ci5hq with the FAQ post, I think it was) but only the person posting can edit the list, and I have so many things I'm trying to keep up with (Pros-wise, OFMD-wise, and life-wise!) that I just can't add another one like that...

I don't think I've seen this before e.g. I didn't know about Lewis being knifed in the face. Many thanks for your posts.
